Your turtle is a Coastal Plains Cooter, Pseudemys concinna floridana. She will end up getting pretty huge 33 to 40 cm SCL (straight carapace length), so will eventually need a huge tank or very large pond.

I was told she is a yellow bellied slider or is that just another name for them ? sorry am new to all of this .Wow that is pretty big .It is cold hear pretty much all the time so i don't think i could put her in a out side pond and I don't think i have the money or the space for a suitable size tank .Think i will have to consider re homing her.We have a great green house and pond reserve near by that take on pet terrapins that people can no longer keep so i think i will look into that and see if they will take her on when she is healthy. At least then she will have all the space she needs .

No Yellow bellied sliders, Trachemys scripta scripta, are a different genus and species.

What do you think the odds are that it is a Coastal Plains Cooter in the UK?

I've seen quite a few in the UK already Ed, so they're already in the UK.
