Hi Everyone.

Just a note to say hi and to tell you all a little about my torts. I have 4 horsefields 2 females brocolli and cauliflower both aged 6 and 2 males peas and carrotts both aged 5. I have had them since oct 2007. My 2 males scl is 114mm each and females are 101mm each. All fed on supermarket salads and weeds found in parks and gardens with nutrabol sprinkled on at every meal time. Just about to start growing my own weeds, they live indoors with outside space when weather nice enough and have never been hibernated. Any advice will be greatly received.

Current weights are as follows

Peas = 144g
Carrotts = 157g
Brocolli = 126g
Cauliflower = 117g

At time of writing in their food bowl is a mix of rose petals and leaves, grape vine leaves and cuecumber. Cuecumber is added to try and temp them to eat as they have been off their food for a while. All have been checked over by a vet who says they are healthy apart from being a little underweight. I have also changed their base for a 50/50 mix of play sand and soil with added calcium. They are being bathed twice daily as of saturday just gone. Not sure what else to do. Advice very much welcome with open arms

Im a little worried about the eating. I know the weather has not been great and that slows them down a little. I will be hibernating them for the first time this year so i would like them to be a decent weight. Had a few hickups the past few years so my torts have not been able to hibernate.

So much depends on temperatures Fifi, if they're warm enough and their area is nice and light and bright they should eat. Having said that I don't keep horsfields but from what i've read they do seem quite sensitive to temperature change

Have you got a nice warm basking spot for them? - should be in the region of 32- 35 degrees C
