crested gecko advice
Hi
I've been at it again and have taken in a new animal. I took in a male crested gecko today with his setup. I've been reading up but know people on here will be able to help. I wasn't warned either that he'd dropped his tail so im still a lit taken back and feeling sorry for the little guy. I'm not going to try and handle him for at least a week to let him settle but need to start doing things properly for him. He's currently on wood chip substrate with not light, not being sprayed, fed on crickets and bananas. I want to add an infared light as i dont really trust leaving on heat mats all day but im not sure how i'd add one to his set up. Any help/advice would be fantastic. See below pics of his current set up:-

Hi Shel,
You will need to put the red bulb abouve, rest it on top of the viv, you can buy CGF (i think thats what it is) it is a powder you add water to it, i also bought 100% fruit baby food, or mashed mango, strawberries, any fruit u can mash up, i never found mine feeding from the floor, i put it up in the foliage, you can also put coir, they sell it in dry blocks, you add water then it expands. They need high humidity, i sprayed mine twice a day. I can't remember what temps i kept mine at, sorry. Marg.

He's doing good thanks, he's still a little bit jumpy when I'm handling him and I can't get him to eat live food but he's been shedding and seems well thanks x
