I grow weeds on the window sill and in pots on the balcony. The OH insists he can't stand the tortoises, but he offers to put them back in their vivs, offers to feed them when I'm away at the weekend and I catch him in their room checking on them lol

We used Chinese takeaway tubs, the clear ones rice and the like come in. These are deep enough to stop them climbing out and have the advantage of a slightly deeper bit running all the way round the torts can really take a good drink out of without he bodies being in too deep water so no fear of them drowning. They can also be placed in the table keeping the whole thing relatively warm for the little ones and hey it's a damn fine way to treat your other half to show him you still care for him by getting him a takeaway! Just don't tell him your only getting it for the tubs. Give em a damn fine clean and don't use the curry ones

Yep, it was me advising on the jam pot lids. Another thing is no long soaks for two or three weeks. Their shells will be soft enough. Just long enough to get a drink.

the lid of a small food storage plastic box, the lip has to be very low or buried to soil height as the little fellows can't get over a step/lip, I had one that was to tiny to get onto the small floor tile which was for the food. It was only about 1/4 inch high if that, I found they seemed to like walking through the water I think it was an adventure to them, I know they all noticed anything different that was added and when I put a spider plant in there wow was that fun attacking any leaf that was low enough. The piece of bark had to be circled first (in case it bit) then climbed on followed by suicidle leaps of the top and if one landed on its back the others would all come over to have a look especially at a waving leg.
