Default Quick weight question please

Hi all, at start of September my Russian tortoise started to only eat occasionally which was great as I wanted to hibernate him this winter, I've had him 3 years but he's 7 year old and always over wintered him. Anyhow he stopped eating all together end of September/beginning of October,so I moved him in my shed in a large box with soil. I bathed him daily to get rid of any food until the 27th October and that day I put him in my small garage fridge which I bought just for him. He is being kept at a constant 5c temp, I weighed him on the 27th and he was 508g, 2 days later he Poo, so I changed bedding and put him back. Today 5th nov I weighed him and he's 500g. So he lost .8 in a week, is this normal? Thanks jas

Your tortoise can lose 51g during hibernation and still be fine. If he loses more then 10% of his weight at the start, it's time to get him up.

Well it's been 4 days and weighed him again and hasn't lost anything, still on 500g.... So all should be well now. 👍
