Stenodactylus doriae
Thought i wud post a few pictures of my dwarf geckos. these are Stenodactylus doriae, and if any of you know anything about these sand geckos then u will know that the Stenodactylus doriae is the rariest off all the Stenodactylus species. these are about 2 years old and are fully grown. there about 2 inches big and eat pinhead crickets and fruit flies. These are captive bred and came from a very provate breeder and are extremely hard to obtain. very small and have dinky legs and light in colour.....i do not use sand on these as of impactions despite the phase sand geckos.
i only own 2 females and if anyone does (doubt it) know of anyone that has a male then i wud love to breed them. hard enough to find these. pics aren't great but my brother has taken some real good ones of them , so will put them up tomorrow. |

i had some dwarf egytion geckos that were microscopic no bigger than an inch when i 1st got them and they didnt get much bigger the were a pain in the bottom cos they were so small you couldnt keep an eye on the to make sure they were hydrated you just had to make sure they had everything they needed and i went through loads of micro crickets in the end i think they went to a new home with some one more experienced in keeping geckos and they were a proven pair so i hope they bred for the person they went to i did try and take photos but they never turned out proply cos they were so small

i know what u mean, u take the pic from a distanc eand nothing comes out so u take one close up and it comes out blurred. generally i find these pretty easy to look after but they aren't kept by most people as they find them hard to keep. they do have a water bowl but never use it but i spray them once aday and from the texture of there skin i know there getting there water. they get through so many crickets a week but are great feeders. just need a male now.
