Default Rabbit info

Hi all,
Does anyone know which breed of rabbit is the smallest?? I used to have bunnies when I was a child and really want to get another one/two but would like something that wont get too big. I used to have a dwarf lop...at least that is what she was sold to me as but she grew huge!! Any help would be great!! Also I am on the herts/essex border so if anyone knows a local breeder to me???

Hi

Are you after a lop or another breed of rabbit?

The smallest rabbit would probably be the Netherland Dwarf the lop sizes are the mini lop, dwarf lop, german lop, French lop.

If you look on the BRC website - British Rabbit Council they have listed all the different breeds with show weights listed.

The best thing would be to visit a local show, have a look at the different breeds and talk to the breeders. Again all the shows are listed on the website. If you need any more help or info just let me know.

First picture Agouti German Lop, second picture Agouti Mini Lionlop - the german weighs about 8 lb with the lionlop 3 and a half pound just to give you an idea of sizes and weights.

Thankyou for all the info!! I am open to any breed although I am favouring the dwarf lop as that was what I kept when I was a kid and they had such lovely temprement. There is a breeder near to me who has a black dwarf lop for sale..a 9 week old doe for £35, does that seem about right cost wise??
