Yeah when they get bigger can be difficult to house, after hibernation if early. Mine went into wind down early outside, so they came out early.

Mine are still asleep, been so since 20th Oct.
Hope to keep them in fridge till mid March, when hopefully weather will allow them out.
So far no weight loss at all, so fingers crossed x

My adult hermanns and ibera..all pre 1980 imports, have been down since 2 november and still down.

I have some 3/7 yr old s who are still down but may get up soon..temps are low again..

I have one adult female hermann new to me, rehomed from Leeds last week, who I had to get up as the journey home and being disturbed from her garage woke her a little and it wasnt worth the risk.

For my adults I am hoping 4 / 5 more weeks. The longest they did was 2007 when they did 22 weeks.
Must admit I am itching to see them up and about..

My 4 adults (2 Hermanns, 2 Horsfields) have had 14 weeks so far and I hace absolutely no intention of waking them for at least 4 weeks unless they stir themselves, although thats probably pushing it a bit! I've made it a bit colder in the shed so they dont realise it's pushing 10 degrees! My juveniles HFs had their first hibernation this year and had 7 weeks and did really well-all were 130 - 210 gm when they went down and all have put on 10-25 gm in the 6 weeks they've been up! So they can have longer next year. I wasnt confident to email my hatchlings-dont think I ever would be. Steph
