Max Hibebernation for adult
After reading a few post on Hibernating, some seem to go over 12 weeks, for adults, so what would be the max, even if the weather remained cold well into April. Assuming no weight loss.

Paul, Assuming all is Ok, no weight loss, or wetness, a few more weeks wont hurt if the weather is cold.

my adult spurs have had 19weeks with very minimal weight loss, the temps in my shed stayed constant at 5c and I woke them simply because the weather has been nice and I feel 20 weeks is max but they used to go for much longer with their previous owners.

Some tortoises that manage to escape from enclosures, and hibernate outside in gardens, have been known to go from October to April. But this would not be recomended every year.
When they do this, they will only emerge if the soil temps are high enough. So will only come up when conditions are correct to do so.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Horsfields can hibernate for 8 months in the wild, is this true?
