Default Selling tortoises

Due to a change in circumstances leading to financial struggle I am seriously considering selling 3 of my 4 tortoises, how would I go about that I'm not sure what I need to do? One of them is big enough to need a microchip and I really can't afford it at the moment?

assuming they are a species that needs to be chipped and papered then unfortunately you can't get around it, chipping will have to be done first then you send a copy, or at least you used to, along with the application form and a copy of your exhisting cert to defra. I always put a letter in as well, and the reason for copies is incase it gets lost in the post, the fee has changed and maybe other requirements but thats the basics. Even if the torts are to small to be chipped I beleive the cert that they must have needs to be in your name before you can sell them, if you wish to advoid or can't afford to do this then your only other option is to give them away with a letter stating so.

Are they torts you bought with A10s or ones you have bred yourself? If you have the A10s, take a look to see if the requirement was for them to be chipped at 100mm under old rules as this will still apply. I believe it is only hatchlings born since the rules changed (or not previously had an A10) which will need to be chipped at 60mm.

ahhh ok , if the 2 from one breeder hatched the same yr it will cost you £31.50 plus £1.50 = £33 for the 2 and £31.50 for the other one to get there a10's updated plus chipping costs , so around £64.50 for a10s and £60 ish for chips .
