Angry So annoying!

I ordered my Arcadia D3 bulb a few days ago for quick delivery as I wanted to get my table all set up and finished. It arrived today so I screwed it in and ...... Nothing! So annoyed that it doesn't work it's just so frustrating as I paid for quick delivery from amazon and now I will have to send it back and get another one sent out which will take a while! I wish I had just gone to one of the pet supply sites now, such a waste of time!

How do you know it's the bulb that is faulty? Have you tried it in another ES27 fitting, even a plastic one would do just to test it. Have you tried another ordinary ES27 bulb in that particular fitting? Is your bulb making contact with the copper contact inside the bulb holder? You can prise the contact up a little bit BUT MAKE SURE IT'S UNPLUGGED FIRST. The lack of good contact has been known to be the problem with many bulb holders in the past

Well I have an exo terra glow light holder that I am currently using with my basking bulb and that works fine. It was strewed in as lightly as it could go and the copper contact was poking up rather then laying really flat but it still didnt work. Well, when I screwed it in the filament was flickering and going on and off. So I am assuming if it was doing that its a fault rather then it just doing nothing. And I couldnt screw it in any tighter or the bulb would have cracked.

Sometimes the flickering is down to the bulb not making a great contact with the copper contact, this causes the electrical current to jump the gap and cause flickering. The bulb fittings are not all exactly the same length to the exact millimeter and even a half a millimeter could cause this. Megaray bulbs used to be really bad for that, they seemed to be just too short and I had to prise the contact up on all the holders for them.

It could just as easilty be the bulb that is faulty but since it's a hassle to send back I'd be trying all other possibles first to make sure. Glowlight and Megaray were notorious for flickering but not so Arcadia though there are bound to be some that do
