Thanks Dan,
I can see the difference in the shape around the tail, its like a little V forming in the male and a softer U in the female. Thanks Kelly for the pics.

Ah - that's great. I think even I would have been able to sex Fred using these pictures.
The description you gave to my post 'Horsfield male or female' about the indentation between the femoral and anal scutes is very obvious when comparing these pictures. Excellent sticky!

Hi,
if you have a look at my thread in this section "Horsfield male or female" - it's near the top still. You will see Danny's full description in there. Oh....... and the anal scute is the one above the tail and the one above near the leg is the femoral scute. Hope that helps! Tara

I have compared my Willow to these pictures and am delighted to find he is a boy I hoped he'd be a boy! He has the 'V' shape in his tail! Thanks so much, Dan and Kelly for making this thread and revealing my Willows gender! = ! That means I'm crying with joy! I'm just being soppy now! But thanks again, Dan and Kelly!

Looking at these pics my female looks like a male
My baby at a year old also looks male, or it might be me that's not comparing them properly LOL |
