Yes shes a bit odd looking She was advertised on preloved had lived in a viv & fed only lettuce. Shes quite young but enormous & has a weird shell, its hard and very smooth but just kind of "stretched" & very round! Shes very shy as was kept in a fish tank type viv with a big heat mat on 24/7 next to a huge TV & the family had 3 toddlers who were constantly banging on the glass & while I was there got her out "to play with", funnily enough she didn't show her face!! I have had her around five months now & she will still eat only lettuce! The only other thing she has tried is butternut squash & a bit of tomato when I squeeze it on other things to tempt her. She likes cuttlefish & unlike my other torts who only eat the front, leaving the chitin back she just bites through & eats the lot. So I assume she has strong jaws.
Originally I thought I may pass her on but then as she has slightly come round didn't think it fair & so thought I would get her a companion (but theyre not together yet) |

Aww well done Lynne sounds like you rescued her from a grim existance, poor girl. My group all vary alot in character, the shy ones do improve over time but she may always be a bit more nervous due to her start, maybe having a friend will give her some more confidence
I have one that is called Hilda cos she never came out and just looked like a hill in the pen! she was from a breeder and came with 2 others who are not like that at all, she is better now but still draws in when touched. |

Lovely smooth shells Lynne, so you ended up getting 2 females in the end, have you kept horsfields before? They are such characters and wonderful to keep.
Would love to see their faces when they settle in a bit xxx
