Default clover...

Hi
This is Clover. I think she is a Spur Thighed tort (you can't see on this pic but she does have little spurs on her thighs...). Any ideas?
Thanks very much
Jo

p.s. she looks a bit odd on the pic as I caught her busy munching on rose petals...is it ok for her to eat these?
J

Clover is a beauty,

if she has spurs on her back legs then she is likely to be a spur thigh, really you need a plastron picture too to identify the sub species as there a a number of different spur thigh tortoises.

Clover is a beauty Like Ade said we will need a plastron shot to tell which subspecies she is. She is though North African.
How long is she?
Yes the rose petals are just fine Jo

Hi here are some more shots of Clover. You will see she only has one eye...I understand that this happened in hibernation many years ago. She was with her last family forty years and I have had her about 18mths. She lives with my other lady who is poorly at the moment
Clover is just over 3.5kg and is 11 inches long ...
What sub species do you think she may be?
Many thanks
Jo

My first thought is Nothern morrocan T.g.graeca. I was thinking whitie, but she doesn't appear to have ivory coloured spurs.

I'm going with T. g. whitei She may not have the really white spurs, but the huge 2nd, 3rd and 4th vertebral scutes say whitei to me.

Thanks chaps - that's very interesting and I appreciate the help. To me though she will always just be Clover... Nice to know a bit more about her possible background though and where her 'wild' spiritual home may be.
Thanks
Jo
