Today of all days....
I got back from visiting my cousins in Suffolk today. I had left the tortoise table lights on timer, as they always are, and I had left loads of weeds for Flo to eat. However when I got back, the basking lamp had blown. I felt the soil directly underneath the basking lamp and it was cold and so was Flo! I have no idea when it had blown. So I had to rush to my usual reptile shop and grab another, only to find I couldn't exchange the bulb as I didn't have the receipt: I had only had the bulb for a month, A MONTH! They didn't have any 100w ones so I ended up having to buy a 150w basking lamp, and I've made sure I have the receipt safely put away How long do your basking lamps last?
On a brighter note though, on my way back from Suffolk we were going past my favorite Reptile centre, so went in (I couldn't resist.) As some of you know, I'm looking to get another female Horsfield's to go with my current one. There was a beautiful one in there along with a male, she had the most beautiful shell. However I think I'm going to wait a little, and see if I can rehome one instead.

I mostly use ordinary light bulbs and swell halogen heat lamps, although some of those have not worked even when I first put them in, Sod's law it happens on a day you are not at home all day x
