Smile Female to Male Ratio

Hello,

There are two Horsfield's which I could get, one is male and one is female however they have to go together. Is the ratio of two females to one male alright or does there have to be more females? They are 2-3 and 3-4 years old, and after the quarantine period they would be put in with Flo. However, would there be enough space in Flo's tortoise enclosure to house all three of them?

Thanks,

Hello, is flo female?

My personal opinion is with horsfields I would have more than 2 females as males are quite aggressive at mating and the more females there are the less likely they would be stressed by him, but that's if he doesn't take a particular liking to just one (as my spart has).

How big is your enclosure, I did have 3 juvenile horsfields in a 6ft x 6ft garden with 4ft x 3ft shed attached, until one of them turned out male and I rehomed him so there are just 2 juvenile females in there now x

I have five females to my one male in a 20ft x 6ft pen and that just about works as he's very aggressive but the girls can get away from him and hide.

That's an even better ratio Mary, and ofcourse the space for females to hide or get away x

Thank you for all your replies, I don't think I'll go for them
