Limestone blocks
Hi all
Just thought i would share this idea of mine with you all ; Well as we all now sprinkling limestone flour on to are tortoises food enhances the calcium intake for are little shelled friends, another way way is leaving cuttle fish in the enclosure not as affective as limestone in laying down calcium within the tortoises system butit works as a beak grinder as well. Well instead of cuttlefish bone some people us dry powdered limestone ,I have tried this and it gets walked through and gets every where so i came up with this idea returning the limestone back to its original state before its powdered ; By putting 6 dessert (heaped) spoons into a small jug or mixing bowel then add 6-8 dessert spoons of water mix to a firm paste mould with hand and leave to dry for 6-8 hours you then have a limestone block, this can be added to your enclosure for your tortoises to nibble on or in the case of my redfoots devour the whole thing anyway just an idea that works well for me i thought i wouls share Darren

It really does work and even though its softer blocks the un-ground limestone it set's enough to be a beak file
will try and get a better picture of it being used soon as I can
