Temperatures

I use a halogen flood bulb for my tables, if can get quite hot directly under the bulb, but due to the flood effect of the bulb the heat is then spread out getting gradually cooler, my question is if directly under the lamp is too hot, but there is places in the table at to bask at lower temps and a cool end from them to completely escape the heat,
would this cause any problems?
