Hi John,

Unfortunately I'm having a similar flickering problem with my new Arcadia lamp and am at a bit of a loss at what to do. Your colleague Tracey explained that the company does say there can be a 1000 hour bedding down time, but this could mean that my horsefield tortoise is without proper lighting for quite a while.

I'm a bit worried that this is going to affect his health and am not sure what to do. I'd really appreciate any advice you or any other members have here.

Thanks,

Sam

All of our lamps have a full no quibble one years exchange.

If it's not working get it swapped over. Let's not forget this is prewar tech! Some WILL fail!

Any problems let me know

John

you're not using a thermostat are you?

mercury vapour bulbs do flicker to some extent, depends how much flickering you are getting

Thanks for the advice. Your colleague was helpful and am sending back for testing and possible replacement.

Didn't know it was pre-war technology! Interesting.

I've had this exact same problem, I've returned it to the vendor twice for replacement, however this keeps reoccurring! The light unit slowly makes the bulb's terminal so pitted that it's unusable and destroys the connection, it's so frustrating considering how much I've spent on the set up.
