I've just bought two Arcadia D3 uv/heat 160 watt bulbs from the same place and they are glowing pink. Is this right for this kind of bulb?

An m.v lamp when new has a definite orange to pink hue as it fires. It takes a good few hours of life to get the whites showing through.

Just thought I would update this (even though it has ages). The bulb was replaced promptly and glowed a bright white as soon as I plugged it in. I had been thinking about getting one of these for a while - so glad I did really brightened things up in for Barney before the hibernation months. Thanks for all replies and to Arcadiajohn for his quick response!
