Just as a follow up
About a week after I cleaned the ear out, I checked the ear and had to pull the scab off as it was attached to more cheesy material. He was fine and ready to go 2 weeks after this. So all in all he spent 3 weeks with me before he got let go in the exact same spot, fighting fit
