It is different because the animals killed in slauter houses are killed by expert staff. They are stuned then killed quickly. They are not hacked to death and die in an hour or more. This must cause pain as tortoises and turtles have nerve endings.
I don't eat lobsters or anything that is boiled alive myself.
There is a difference in the quick death for food and the long slow agonising death faced by tortoises and turtles
