I thought I just replied to this one but it seems to have gone. Anyway, I use natural slate floor tiles from B&Q, they were about £10 for a pack of 5 and are 12 inches square. The water dish and the food dish both sit on one, the bigger the better because it helps stop the food ending up on the soil, though it still often does. the other 3 tiles I use for outdoor hides supported by 2 bricks

they might be more than a tenner a pack now but worth every penny even if they were £15 it would only be £3 each still. Sometimes you get knockdown end of range for a fiver a pack
