. I don't recall ever having made a Blue Peter DIY thing though, sticky backed plastic was never widely available in our house. The corn flakes box and egg box was easy enough but there was always stuff you would have had to go out and buy, glue, glitter, paint, a diesel powered engine
Here's a modern day one, you would be unlikely to have all these items on the list, most people just don't have a wooden dowel lying around spare
