Do you have birthday weekends Emma ? I do ....whole weekend closest to Birthday.
Chester on the Vikings?
He's been to the dog groomer today and looks like a little pup again. He's lost his Boris Johnson fringe and beard....well, for the next few weeks. They soon grow again. Until they do, he definitely doesn't look like a Viking...even though his full name is Chester Uhtred Ragnar Valentino.

We have two-day birthdays so the day after a birthday we have off too. This came about from homeschooling so they'd have their birthday off and then the day after to have a chill/play with new toys day. The two eldest are now working and my homeschool is down to two, one of which is at GCSE stage so we still have our two days but the workers obviously don't.
For me personally, I've always loathed my birthday. Can't bear a fuss. I love making everyone else's birthdays special but for me, I'd go without if I could. Not because I mind getting older as I don't at all, but I just don't see a point in my birthday. I go along with it for the cake.
My 40th fell on a Monday so I cancelled it and had it on the Sunday instead to share it with the whole family, then on the Monday we sat and watched The Hobbit.

Birthday weekends sound a good idea, Clare. How do you spend them?
