I always get ex bats too! They need so much care in the early days when they don't have the strength to climb up the ramp to bed and need carrying up every night but then over time there are gradually less and less of them to put away as they gain strength. I love watching my ex bats. They are unrecognisable from the sorry state they were in initially with no feathers and no leg strength. They are such characters. I am sure that they bond better with you too cos of all the extra care they get when they are at their most vulnerable. I remember the wonderful feeling when one of my ex bats really struggled to get up the ramp, never quite making it then one evening after watching her fail twice on her third go she made it!! There were cheers all round!!
