I bought some from a roll. used as windbreaker into a shed also. I think you are right it would seem to depend on direct sun light to get that sort of increase in temps as not noticed it when not direct but then weve had such high ambient temperatures I hadn't really noticed as its been so hot without direct sun. The idea around it for me is it lets the UV in for plants so same for Torts. Though doesn't horticultural glass do that also ?? otherwise whats the difference in horty glass and normal glass or toughened glass and that definitely is sun ray dependent in the autumn time. its a good point and will take a closer look.
