Hi everyone, I've been lurking and reading for a couple of weeks now and now my beautiful baby marginated Byron has arrived I thought I'd introduce myself properly.
My name is Jen and I'm 21 years old, long-time animal lover I've had various pets and worked with many animals as a former RSPCA volunteer. Having finally got settled in a proper home and with money from a proper job after the student years I was finally able to get a little tortoise - will post a couple of pics in the pics section.
I think I've done ok for a newbie, proper set-up etc. although I did buy him from thetotoiseshop.com, before I discovered this site, he seems well though and is settling in nicely. He loves dandelions and enjoys his baths!
I'm quite worried as I've read that a large proportion of tortoises die within their first five years so I'm eager to learn as much as possible.
Anyway that's it for now I won't bore you any more
