How often would they naturally find water? Not every day that's for sure. They can survive for a long time without water. It's just not natural to submerge them every day when they have no choice and can't get out. If they have access to a bowl of fresh water they will use it if they need to.

I'm not sure this is correct, they can go along time without food but i'm not so sure about water.
