not a very truthful but effective ploy is to get the paper to run a story saying that without vet treatment he will die { well it would be true if he was ill }
i know someone who used this ploy and her tortoises { 3 sullys } where dumped in a public place the very next day
people do not want to keep a found animal if they think its going to cost them huge vets bills
