Estivation or Aestivation among Animals is a deep prolonged sleep, that occurs in the summer or dry season in response to heat and/or drought. They can lower there metobolic rate to do this. Unless i have lead myself up the wrong path, the Tortoise can do this also for winter and only mammals truely Hibernate. So the Tortoise is capable of Estivating most of the year, a winter and a summer as some of the S.Africans do.
