What are those 2 lights on the left, if they sit under a light all day because ambient temps are low it encourages the new keratin growth to dry out, regardless of humidity levels. New keratin that is dry encourages pyramiding, it force the bone structure to grow down and not across, the keratin follows bone structure.

The 2 lights only provide heat for them as the enclosure were located outdoor
