Geckos don't take the heat from basking like say a tort or bearded dragon.
Geckos take it from their stomachs, so if they went to a spot under the light, they'd only take in the heat on the spot...

Try to print up some helpful caresheets for horsfields. Pointing out what horsfields eat. That they require calcium, what kind of care they need etc.
Also maybe point them to some places like here...

nah, what we believed to be the egg dissappeared a week or so after i got her. I searched all through the sand, no luck though.
problem is though, these are a digging species.

Well i've taken out the cali sand.
put in the bag of top soil.
And have got the play sand bag split open and under a lamp (to try to help it dry quicker).
