HI helen I would not be in to mutch of a hurry I would say wait till she is at least 9/10 years old as she could get egg bound .But that is what I would do wait and see what others say .

Another one out
Just want to share this with everyone, I have 15 adults and I hibernate them every year the same way in a safe area ,they can dig down in a mixture of soil and sand with leafs on top and go down...
