I'm no guru either, like Guru Tugginmypudha :-P. Just saying most keeper's start with a hatchling or a one year old from a shop. To have an older tort is a nice thing.:-P

To get a Herman's at 12 is a great thing, well done, do you know the history of the tort as well, has the tort been hibernated in the past ect.
Mine are all youngsters, 2 Hermans at 5 years, 1 at 7....
