We have Great Tits, Blue Tits, Coal Tits and Long Tailed Tits.

The link didn't seem to work, but there are only a few that are actually in the UK.

If you click on the bit by the light bulb it will come up.

We have loads of long tailed great and blue tits one or two coal tits and I'm sure I saw a bearded tit this morning which is why I looked up the tit family.

ooh I didn't know they were called chick a dee dee dee dee dee....I wonder why we call them Tits when the black bird is obviously black, the wood pecker obviously pecks wood...im with it so far....sparrow must have origins in latin some where....I think wikky page needs an update and explanation.

I love bird song. Did they keep the Radio Birdsong channel. CB

We've had blue tits and great tits nest in the garden. Coal tits and long-tailed tits come to feed but have never used the nest boxes. I don't think I've ever seen a bearded tit but I could be wrong. Our eldest son is the bird-watcher here and would possibly set me right.

We fed the birds every day over the winter and have been rewarded, particularly with tits who have nested. Never seen a bearded tit. Love their other name .

I don't encourage birds into my garden because of my cats... that being said I do get lots of blue tits and Great tits. Bearded tits tend to be found near water if my memory serves me correctly, they like reeds. I have seen some where I used to live.

That's possibly why I saw one as I'm surrounded by lakes.:-)

Goodness lucky you I don't think I've ever seen a bearded tit. Seem to be more long tailed tits around these days though as at one time we only used to get them during the winter. Mary

This reminds me of a conversation I had with my ten year old son who at the time didn't know any better.....he is nearly 38 now... We were in the car and he ( why I have no idea ) said ' gosh look at the tits on her)!!! In true mum fashion I turned round and said..loudly....... 'TITS, TITS.........they are Busoms......Tits are birds, you get blue tits, coal tits, long tailed tits, great tits.... Women have busoms!!!!!!'
I think that was a lesson learned.

Gordon, we get a lot of tits.....quite a few families of the more common blue tits, but more recently long tailed tits are coming to the feeders..... They can be a bit manic when they arrive x x x xhugs x x x
