Running cost of 160w uv basking lamp

Does anyone know the cost of running this 12 hrs a day for a week? Dont know how to work it out and I am interested. We pay the leccy via a bill not cards or keys etc if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance x

It should say on the bill, what you are paying per Kilowatt of electric. Your bulb is using about just under 2kw a day, so say it is 14p a kw, 28p a day £1.96 a week.
I think my maths and calculation's are right, anybody can pull this up if they like.:-P Or put a new light on it.

There are some convertors on line which will work it out for you. Have no links, sorry, I used them a while ago. Think I just googled something like electric unit costs, and several were available. Hope that helps.

Oh dear my hubs might be dissapointed lol. I have been telling him that Alfreds lamp was not expensive to run! oops

This one has come up quite often. it depends how much your electric is per kilowatt. the last time I calculated mine was about 2 year ago and it was about 12p per kilowatt then but obviously more now. 12 hours x 160w = 1.92 Kilowatts

so 1.92Kw multiplied by the pence per Kw is the answer. even if it's as much as 20p per Kw now it still only equates to 38p per day

Ok thanks for that, will ask Dave tomorrow how much we pay per kilowatt and get back to you. He works nights and wont see him until tomorrow evening now.

Actually I was thinking of charging Alfred board and lodgings lol
How on earth do people afford to run multiple tortoise tables?

They might not be able to if the bloody electric/gas comp, don't stop being greedy.
