New Linear Arcadia Lighting

Hi guys and girls, so nice to read such positive comments about our lamp, did you know that it was 8 years in R and D!

The 100watt backing lamp is available now and is a true beauty, our lamps are also guaranteed for one year!

Please ado note that we have now the worlds first high output T5 6 and 12% linear lamps, imagine the UVB output of a good M.V lamp in up to a four foot strip!

Has anyone obtained any yet, I would love to hear results,

Thanks again

J

Welcome to the forum John, good to hear from you. I have added another 160w to the one you sent me, very happy with them. I'd never heard of those new lamps, where can we get info on them?

Jonathan,

Itll be interesting to know what basking temperatures you can achive with the MR. Bob Mac said recently on a yahoo group Im on that the new 100 amd 160 watt run cooler than most Par 38 lamps as they have a genuine stated wattage (most others running above the stated 100/160 watts). To the extent that Mr Mac said additional heat bulbs may be required.

On the Arcadia "linear" lamp are we talking the 12% Uvb flouro tube here please or a new product?

Thanks Al. 60uw/cm2 at 30cms might give a nice lower intensity UV spread over an area, presuming the output tapers from the centre like other tubes. Very interesting.

It does say that a replacement starter is not required but they are 16mm rather than 26mm tubes. Are the terminals the same size as the larger tubes or is there some sort of adaptor to fit existing starters? (if anyone knows).

The high output T5 lamps run on electronic ballasts, so no replacement starter button is required, these must not be confused with standard T5 lamps. T8 simply means that the lamp is one inch in diameter a and T5 is 5 eighths, high output uses the slimer tube but had over twice te light output, these are very, very powerful.in my opinion the d3plus T5s are the perfect table lamp, providing good strong light over a massive area. M.vs are great but the tiny area of quality u.v makes them less efficient at providing u.v in the enclosure. Nothing can or will ever be perfect, we will never truly harness the power of the sun, but tech had moved on so quickly we can now provided the very best of captive husbandry for our animals. The lamps are available from all good reptile stores and online. There is a very good display at south coast exotics in waterlooville, any really techie questions please pm me as to not clog up the thread,

Happy herpin
J

Thanks for the extra info John :D

just to let you know, you need to have made 5 posts before you can use the PM facility, so a few more posts and our members will be able to PM you with any specific queries they may have

Thanks Arcadia John. Think I'm gonna get me some of these.
