Sexing young spur thighs
I know it is incredibly difficult to be sure of the sex of young tortoises, however, I wondered if any one can answer this:
If an 18 month old Greek spur thigh is exhibiting classic Male mating behaviour is it definitely male or could it just be confused? The tail is no guide yet! |

What behaviour are we talking about? |
It'll be classic male behaviour !! pacing, impatient and tight with their money I suspect !
Nicky probably wont be able to tell behavioural wise until a little older and take into account the shape / tail etc. There is one girlie Horsfield that mounts the rest so THAT sort of behaviour is not solely a male trait! CB |
Thank you, I hoped that was the case!

It could be two females sorting out the pecking order.
If you post a picture of the tail end we can take a guess. |
Have taken pictures but can’t seem to find how to load them!

I use post image upload your pics copy the hot links for forums and then paste to your thread.
