Corvid 19 and torts

Well it didn't take long, I have just taken in the most beautiful old female spurthigh that unfortunately has become part of all this shut down.
The lady said as she only has a small garden and cant get out as in lockdown for three months she cant get enough food for the tortoise so it has to go. :-|:-|

What a shame. It had crossed my mind about how many people would be rehoming all different types of animals during lockdown if it goes on for months. We’ve luckily got plenty of food for all of ours but how can animals be rehomed when the shelters are closing and we need to practice social distancing?

She’s a lovely tort, Gordon.

Wow, she's absolutely gorgeous Gordon, lucky you.
It's very sad. I am very lucky to have a, lovely neighbour who enjoys gardening & sees my torts as the perfect reason to grow all sorts, weeds, organic lettuce, flowers. So she's growing plenty plus I keep finding carrier bags of lettuce hanging on a hook over the fence! each time she goes shopping.
