Torts not eating their greens in heatwave

Our Hermanns are ignoring their usual leafy greens like lettuce and kale, and all the weeds have stopped growing in our garden with the heatwave. They chomp down any cucumber, tomato, tiny bits of fruit and soaked reptile pellets I give them to keep them hydrated, but I'm just wondering if their diet is a bit unbalanced now. Anybody else having the same issue or got any alternative food ideas?

If you are feeding pellets, cucumber and tomatoes then that's what they will always eat first, as it's junk food for them:0)
If you feed the junk foods one day, feed the good foods until they eat it:0)
Or mix all the foods together so they have to eat both:0)
Tortoises are strong willed, and wil wait for the foods they want rather than what's good for them:0)
Regular bathing will help keep them hydrated.

Mine are un full upable!! Eating like horses! Have you tried pre alpin? A friend suggested i blitz a cucumber & mix the juice in & voila they like it now. I have found it a God send.

oooh they are being spoilt. I fed mine florette crispy for a few days and now they are sat waiting for it ! So bear with the dried out weeds or they will wrap you round their little claws. I can see little dandelions growing so my lot will have to get off their little shells and go hunt ! CB
