Indoor inclosure - need disenfecting?

Hi everyone,

I have a question for you - been looking around online but not sure what to do. I'm getting a hatchling on Sunday and i'm planning on using a box/tort table that my partners tortoise used to live in. He's outgrown it so we've built him a new one but do I need to disenfectant it before i put my baby tort in there?

I would, you can get special reptile disinfectant..

I've used my hamster disinfectant on my tort table once..... but tbh i don't really disinfect it.... I don't see point as they are so small and hardly make any mess! I clean the food/water bowls and their bath but that's about it.

I definately would disinfect thoroughly before first use.
I always disinfect the tables after each soil change if only to make me happier that its as clean as possible;-)
I use vetark ark klens and you just spray it on leave a few mins then wipe off, easy peasy.
Congratulations on your new arrival, where did you get him from in the end?

Thank you, i've ordered some of the vetark stuff now ready for the little one's arrival. If all goes well then i'll be getting him from mary torts this weekend. i find her contact details on the tortoise protection group website so all should be good :D
