Thinking about getting a sulcata???
Someone else had this link on their thread. I think it's really important which is why I copied it. I myself have two large females and have had them 16 years. Please look at the link below before getting one. We house ours in our shed which is about 20ft x 15ft. They have 75% of the floor space as well as the full run of the garden. These torts really do need loads of space and will bulldoze through your garden like tanks.

You are so right! We have three males 2 that live together in a purpose built large shed and one that has been loaned out with friends. They eat loads, poo loads, wee like a horse! and go where they want to, when they want to. Also, do not expect to have a low electrcity bill as they take some heating even with an insulated shed!
I love ours to bits and they are only 14 years old one weighs around 6 stone the other around 8. It takes 2 of us to move them anywhere unless you have banana to hand! |
Its my dream to keep sulcatas, but only when Im rich enough to have a large farm haha!

Well don't forget to share the wealth.......

Gorgeous torts though - great personalities.
I would have loved to keep them but I know my limits and my garden is not big enough. |
mick can you post some pics please :-P
im very envious :-P |
Yep would love to see pics of all your torts and set-ups. I would love to have a few sulcata, but need a lottery win first to be able to move to a house with a massive garden and to be able to heat their enclosure :D

Can't post pic's right now as I'm on my work comp....Shhhhh don't tell the boss. I have loads of pic's in my Albums on my profile page. Some of them are from two years ago but not much has changed....bar the sulcatas size. Feel free to take a look and let me know what you think.
