tort climbing up walls.......

One of my hermanns tort seems determined to constantly keep try to climb up one corner of his enclosure is there anything i can do to deter him he seems so fustrated when he just slides back down the wood as he cant get out ? should i add some sort of backing like you use on a fish tank on the wall or will this confuse him as it fake ?

Maybe your temperatures are either too high or too low.
Or possibley your enclosure is not big enough for two tortoises.
Once in a new home, most tortoises try to escape, and climb the walls, but it does stop.

I sat in the garden for an hour and a half today and watched Lily trying to scale a brick wall. She finally gave up but not without repeated tipping, I guess she got sick of being laughed at.

Hi Michelle,

Do you mean they are 110m (nearly 4 and half inches) and 75mm (3 inches)??

I think your temps are probably too high in the cool end.
