Hermann Tortoise by Holger Vetter

Does any one know where I could purchase a copy of Hermann's Tortoise, Boettger's and Dalmatian Tortoises: Testudo boettgeri, hercegovinensis and hermanni (Chelonian Library, Volume 2) by Holger Vetter. Or does anyone have a copy they would be willing to sell ?

I don't think anyone can top that price and that is a trust worthy operation... if you don't mind dealing with a frog.

Why has the price plumetted on that book? I'll be he's comming out with a new edition.

RACISM

So... you consider the French a seperate race??????... hmm... interesting. I also consider Karim a friend. Perspective is everything.

Also... the word is RACIST... if used in the proper context.

I wonder what Karim considers you????

Racism, racialism=hostile attitude or behaviour to members of other races, based on a belief in the innate superiority of ones own race.

Racist,racialist=EJ.

EJ 02-05-2012 04:32 PM

Ask him. Mention the guy from the states with the Aldabras from Mauritius.

Last time I looked the French was a mixed race but I believe that Karim is Caucasian or Europoid... same as myself.

Ahhh, so not really a "friend" just someone who may have spoken to you or heard of you!

Maybe I will make the effort to tell him that you refered to him as a frog.

EJ 02-05-2012 05:09 PM

If he ever makes it to the Atlanta area he has an open invitation to stay at my place. We've met yearly for the last so many years in Daytona where we've shared a drink or 2. I don't consider many people friends... most are aquaintances. He strikes me as one of the nicer people in this hobby... and I have a great deal of respect for his business sense.

If you place it in context I would be very surprised if he did not chuckle at the comment.

I think that the context is very clear!

EJ 02-05-2012 06:10 PM

Most normal people will see it as one friend poking fun at another.

I can see how certain tortoise keepers could take that comment out of context and spin it to facilitate their own evil intentions. It's been done to me before and has demonstrated to me the character of the person I'm dealing with.

Thats an interesting way of trying to deflect,
...assuming you mean me, what evil intentions might that be?

Judging character is something I am usually quite good at btw.
Just so we are clear, I am not usually very keen on people who insult ,bully and generally try to be obnoxious.

I am done......

EJ 02-05-2012 07:24 PM

(sigh)... seems a little hypocritical to me.
