Vivariums and humidity.
I got sick to death with "experts" always saying vivariums are too high in humidity for leopard tortoises.
So I took a picture, you might be able to make out the probe in the background. http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos...031_n.jpg?dl=? In the vivarium is 50% soil and 50% aubiose hemp. She also has a large water dish in the middle. The humidity does go to 55% for no more than an hour when I mist the topsoil under the heat lamp every 2 days. |
My vivas only read about 42-55 PCM humidity as well, so no worry on that score x

These experts have clearly been doing something wrong.
Probably been putting the waterdish under the heat lamp lol. |
Yeah I know, even when I spray it it goes up a bit but soon drops down again, ventilation is important as well x
|
I keep both doors open about 3 inches on each side and 6 large holes in the back.
Made my sister stay in there for an hour when I first got it for a joke and she ended up going to sleep. |
Ha ha maybe I should sleep in one, I sometimes have bad night sleeps, be lovely and warm x
