Hi All,

I just wanted to introduce myself. I adopted a hermanns tort on 1st Jan.
Little Irwin is approx 1.5 /2 years old and has some serious MBD.

We've been to the reptile vets a few times and they seem content that Irwin seems to really be doing great in her new home on Liquid Calcium and with access to new UVB light.

Its going to be a long road to recovery and I've been lurking a lot on here for advice a lot, its been really helpful:)

This is all new to me and there seems to be so much info to take in! But i'm absolutely besotted with my little tort and so impressed with how well shes done even in the 1 month i've had her.

So yeah, Hi! from me and Irwin.

Hello and welcome, and well done for taking her in, sounds like she's being very well looked after. Please feel free to ask as many questions as you need.
You can't post a picture until you have done five posts, then you need to upload your pics to a host site first, most people on her use photobucket, once you have your pics on there, you can then copy and paste on to SW.

I don't know much about MBD but some torts can live a good life even after a dreadful start.

Photo posting on here is easy via photobucket. Basically you copy and paste the IMG link from photobucket onto your post and the photo magically appears.

I think we all get very attached to our tortoises so I'm not surprised you have bonded with Irwin!

welcome and Irwin too, love to see a picky. Keep posting won't you as always nice to hear from new people to the site even if we all go off on a tangent on occasion, part of the fun of the site and holding all interests.
