K. belliana nogueyi Information please

Im a newbie to this forum so hello everyone :)

Im expecting a delivery of a captive bred baby K.Belliana Nogueyi middle of this year and im researching like crazy trying to find as much info as possible , i have learnt one thing..... theres not much information available compared to other species :(

Im quite confused about where this species comes from ?:???:
Tort Trust states Belliana species come from grassy scrub lands of Southern Africa , yet i was led to believe Belliana Nogueyi was from Western tropical areas of Africa.(known as a Western Hingeback):???:

Im trying to create a perfect enclosure for my baby , so do i need a scrub land dryer sparce planted enclosure or a well planted tropical green enclosure ?

Im presuming humidity is 65-80 % , Temps of Ambiant 24-27c , Basking 28c , Over night 22c and 5 % UV is the same which ever species of Hingeback or is it different?

If anyone can help , i would really appreciate it

Delivery? Germany?

The now species, Kinixys nogueyi, is found in western Africa, so will need a mild tropical rainforest habitat (like you've out-lined). Food the same as a Redfoot (but with a bit more animal protein). They stress easily, so the less you pick them up the better (so a large shallow water dish is important).

Knew where you were  Just wondered where you'd be getting a CB Kinixys from as they aren't often captive bred and even less often for sale. :D

Im getting one from a friend of mine (also in the UK)who is registered on this forum i believe :D
Hatched only a few days ago - Been waiting a long time for this x
I keep Hermanns myself so Hingebacks are completley new to me hence the research

I think Mick sells his, and 2 other private breeders in the north east and the New Forest-I think there's someone else who is private but can't think who now.
Recently, a big commercial breeder in England has started with k.nogueyi, and is obviously selling them pretty cheap to the trade as they are going in shops for as little as £65, up to about £130 in some cases.
Take a look at this which is a nice collection of kinixys habitat(rarely are photos available of it)-and also the sad problem of hunting of them. The more deeper forest pics are the habitat of kinixys erosa and kinixys homeana, but you can see some wild nogueyi as well:

And a good caresheet by Mick who is a breeder in Ireland.

I believe the project is part of the African Chelonian Institute. As you said, it offers a pretty unique insight into their habitat.
