My grandson was born today. :-D I'm so happy, he's so handsome and cute and the best baby ever and I haven't even seen him in the flesh yet.
He was born by emergency c section. Everything was going fine until they couldn't find the baby's heartbeat. My son in law rang me from outside the operating theatre, having just been handed his son, I could hear his little cry as we talked on the phone. He weighed in at a hefty 8lb 9 oz.

I have a picture on my phone but can't work out how to put it onto my laptop. :? When my son gets up he will do it for me.

He's going to be a bruiser Wendy! At the moment he looks so gorgeous and he is! Give him a couple of years and he'll be tearing around your garden and you'll be loving it!
But for now, enjoy those special cuddles. There's nothing quite like a newborn nestled in your arms or their head on your shoulder with that gorgeous special baby smell. Bless him! Welcome to the world little one! x

I can't wait to hold him. So excited, don't think I'll be sleeping tonight. I'll be seeing him tomorrow, it was too late tonight, visiting time was over and my daughter hadn't come round. He has huge hands in that picture.

Thanks everyone. She rang me this morning, they have named him after my Dad, Edward, Teddy for short.They were going to call him Theodore and shorten it to Teddy but as he was born on his great granddads birthday they changed it to Edward. Don't know how I feel about the name yet.
