The coke add

Emma, I saw it twice last night, it feels too early. Things are getting very Christmassy!

It’s changed too! I don’t like Santa sat at his desk before and after the lorry. He’s still not winking either.
The only advert I like at the moment is good old Kevin the Carrot.
It’s weird as silly adverts like the Famous Grouse and its theme tune remind me of Christmas. So I like hearing that one.
Still no John Lewis yet though....

Yes good old Kevin the carrot, that’s a Christmas staple now. It’s too early for John Lewis, they like to keep us waiting, I think they let all the others launch theirs first, then wow us ! But it’s all started now, it’s like an express train. It’s a shame some jobs worth decided to ban the Iceland add, for being too political, I think it was genius, and so important.

I know! It’s ridiculous that they can ban an advert.
I watched it being discussed on the news this morning and thought how mad things are becoming.
I hope the John Lewis advert will be better this year as I wasn’t too overwhelmed by Moz last year.

I can’t even remember last years JL add, it must have been truly underwhelming! I think sometimes the smaller supper markets like Aldi and Morrison’s are actually better. I say bring back the Iceland add, Christmas is an ideal time to send out an important message, and in a Christmas add, cos everyone is watching closely.

Yes, that one set in the trenches was very poignant a few years ago. Was that Cadbury?
I used to love the Iceland Christmas one that played to ‘Driving Home for Christmas’ by Chris Rea way back in the 90’s. I still like that track when I hear it.

That’s right, thanks Alan. I wonder if they’ll do something marking the centenary of the end of the war this year?

I don't know but in recent years it has all become a bit of a multi million pound film making competition between them all and at the end of the day folk just go to where they normally go for their Christmas stuff :-D
